Role: IT Support and Asset Management Administrator

The Role:
“IT” is an Operations and Infrastructure Team that supports the company’s IT Infrastructure and to an extent the building environment. The incumbent therefore has a dynamic and varied role supporting the “IT” team and company by administering the software and hardware assets, assigning hardware to new employees and logging building issues to the Landlord.
Skills and Experience:
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical colleagues at all levels in the organisation
- Need to know Microsoft Word and Excel very well
- Although this is an administrator role the incumbent does need to have good understanding of IT Technology – Not support
- Must be self-managed and accountable
- Must be very organised and have a structured approach to completion of tasks with a strong focus on detail and accuracy
- Function effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Need to have Licencing knowledge and limited experience
- Ability to use initiative
- Good relationship management skills
- Knowledge of service desk ticketing systems is beneficial
- Prior experience in this role or a similar type role is a prerequisite.
Key Accountabilities:
- Procurement
- Manage the internal order process within “IT”. This involves submitting orders for approval once specifications have been received and managing the delivery thereof.
- Hardware – e.g. Networking Equipment, Server Infrastructure
- Hardware warranty management
- External to the “IT” department
- Hardware – Desktops, Laptops and peripherals
- Software – Operating System Licenses, Development tools
- IT Asset Management and Inventory Control
- Managing the Hardware lifecycle –
- Recording, tracking and reporting on computing assets. From new user devices to end of life
- Manages registers and databases containing information regarding licenses and warranties for the organisations hardware and software
- Managing the Hardware lifecycle –
- Hardware – e.g. Networking Equipment, Server Infrastructure
- Manage the internal order process within “IT”. This involves submitting orders for approval once specifications have been received and managing the delivery thereof.
- Licensing – Responsible for the daily recording of transactional activities for the tracking, administration and maintaining licensing compliance. Knowledge of Microsoft licensing is beneficial.
- Service Requests:
- New employee Process –Liaising with the “IT” team, HR and PM’s on software and hardware requirements for new employees.
- Ensures delivery on specific start date deadlines
- “IT” administration:
- Following up with landlord regarding building environment issues
- Managing Datacentre air-conditioner maintenance schedule
- Sourcing service suppliers for the building environment e.g. fire extinguishers, fumigators
